To create the sounds for Subtext , I recorded several individuals singing a popular song of their choice. I then edited the files to my liking.
The edited files only use portions of the recordings where words were not articulated. These leftover sounds consists of various inhalations and utterances.
My interest lies in exploring what the hidden sounds of a vocal recording can possibly tell us about unexpressed desires that constitute part of our attraction to popular music.
